Joining the Mississippi Lodge of Research

Membership in the Mississippi Lodge of Research is open to all Master Masons in good standing with a Lodge currently recognized by the Grand Lodge of Mississippi. There are two classifications of membership: dual and plural.

For Mississippi Masons, a Certificate of Good Standing for Dual Membership (GL Form 5E1)must be obtained from your Lodge Secretary. The Certificate of Good Standing must be filled out completely, including the Petition for Affilitaion portion. Once received, the Certificate of Good Standing, along with $35.00 USD, must be submitted to the Mississippi Lodge of Research for vote at its next Stated Communication.

For Out-of-State Masons - If your jurisdiction allows plural membership and is in fraternal relations with the Grand Lodge of Mississippi, a Certificate of Good Standing for Plural Membership must be obtained from your Lodge Secretary and forwarded to your respective Grand Lodge for approval. Once approved, your Grand Secretary will forward the Certificate of Good Standing to the Grand Secretary in Mississippi, who will in turn approve the Certificate and notify the Mississippi Lodge of Research.

Pending both approvals, you will then be required to fill out a Petition for Affiliation directly to the Mississippi Lodge of Research. Once received, both the Certificate of Good Standing and the Petition for Affiliation, along with $35.00 USD, must be submitted to the Mississippi Lodge of Research for vote at its next Stated Communication.

Once a unanimous vote has been secured, the paperwork will flow in reverse through the Grand Lodge of Mississippi back to your respective Grand Lodge, and ultimately back to your local lodge.
